About the Album
Michelle David & The True-tones are a gospel-soul band led by singer Michelle David, born in New York and raised in the church, who began singing at age four. She has performed in Broadway productions including Mama, The Sound of Motown, Glory of Gospel, and Mahalia, and recorded with Diana Ross and Michael Bolton before forming The True-tones.
Soul Woman, released February 27, 2026 on Record Kicks, is the band's eighth album and follows 2024's Brothers & Sisters. The record draws on gospel, soul, and vintage rhythm and blues, with arrangements from longtime collaborators Paul Willemsen and Onno Smit (guitar, bass) and Bas Bouma (drums).
